Rainha estate holds 280 hecter of coffee growing, more then a hundred of which grows the Yellow Bourbon varietal. The altitude and climate of the region is perfect for specialty coffee and the farm even got a "cup of excellence" award at 2011.
The art of Process:
Handpicked ripe cherries are manually pulped at Rainha estate mill, and then dried on raised African beds for 18 days with the mucilage intact. The parchment must be carefully maintained and turned to ensure even drying and prevent over fermentation. Once the coffee has dried to an optimum moisture content it is rested before being hulled and graded for export.
Minas grias area is one of the largest coffee manufacturers in the world, its climate and altitude is excellent for coffee growing.
